AdvoCare Pledges $250,000 to the Troops Through Operation Homefront

FORT WORTH, TX, Feb. 4, 2010 – AdvoCare recently pledged $250,000 in 2010 to support U.S. troops and their families through Operation Homefront, a military support nonprofit. The commitment was announced during the Success School National Conference held in Fort Worth, Texas.

The three-day event dedicated to sales training and recognition celebrated the AdvoCare products, business opportunity, and vision for the future. More than 3,200 Independent Distributors were in attendance. The closing session culminated with the announcement of the Operation Homefront Platinum Level Sponsorship.

Thousands of U.S. military troops are currently deployed overseas, leaving their families and loved ones behind. Operation Homefront provides emergency and morale assistance for our troops, the families they leave behind and for wounded warriors when they return home. A national nonprofit, Operation Homefront leads more than 4,500 volunteers in 30 chapters nationwide, and has met more than 200,000 needs since 2002. A four-star rated charity by watchdog Charity Navigator, nationally, $.92 of every dollar donated to Operation Homefront goes to programs.

The AdvoCare corporate office initiated this relationship in the Fall with a significant donation of product to be used by troops at home and abroad. In December, the corporate employees became involved and volunteered to sponsor 10 military families for the holidays.

“Building Champions” for more than 16 years, AdvoCare President and CEO Richard Wright says it was a natural fit that AdvoCare support a cause reflecting its own values.

“Operation Homefront’s mission thrives on helping those who so selflessly defend our nation. We are grateful for the selfless courage of these men and women, and this is just one way we, as a company can give back and show our support,” says Wright.

This donation means a lot to the troops. “The price of peace is paid by the entire military family,” says Operation Homefront’s CEO Jim Knotts. “Especially during deployments, the families back home face unique challenges specific to military life. The support of companies like AdvoCare means the world to them. It helps them overcome challenges, and reminds them of the support among the American people they help defend.”
